1st Anniversary of Denise Dolly O’Brien
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009On Thursday 31st of January we celebrated the 1st Anniversary of Denise Dolly O’Brien, in Dunderry with a huge turnout of family, friends and members of Soft in the Church is Robertstown. Included in attendance were Denise’s very special friends Ellen & Elaine. It was a very moving ceremony at which Denise’s special song was sung and Ian & Jackie complied a beautiful poem the words of which are enclosed. We all adjourned back to the O’Brien Family House to sample some of Mary’s home cooking. We were delighted to hear that Ian, Jackie & Mary are heading off to New York in February for some retail therapy and a rest before they get ready for the Keeper Climb!!!
REJOICE
Are you sad or why do you cry?
I am alive, I did not die,
You cannot see me I am not here,
But I am around you, always near.
Rejoice, be happy for the life I had,
I had a wonderful life, smile and be glad,
It’s hard I know, when you cannot see
The person you loved so much, so dearly.
But I am happy, now I am at rest,
I know it was hard but you did your best.
I see your tears fall, please dry your eyes,
A person is reborn the day that they die.
I am free as a butterfly, with the Lord above,
Looking over ye all with joy and with love,
And in all you do I am with you,
To help you along, to get you through.
I am the snowdrops that grow so pretty in Spring,
I am the warm summer breeze, a July day brings.
And the new born lamb that runs free in the fields,
I am the abundance of life that never yields.
And the last leaf that falls on an Autumn day,
I am the sweet scented flower, the new buds in May.
And come the dark days, as the shadows grow long,
I’ll be your rising sun, I will make you strong.
So please dry your eyes, I’m at peace, I am free,
And by your side, I will always be.
And in good time, when the Lord calls you home,
Be not afraid you will not be alone.
For I’ll be waiting until that day,
And we’ll be together again, come what may.
