South West Acute Hospital Invite

Brenda McCabe ,community midwife and Antenatal clinic manager for Omagh and Co.Fermangh contacted SOFT Ireland to make a presentation on Mon 15 Jan 2018.

They had an information/study day for staff (Midwives, Nurses, obstetricians and health visitors) on abnormalities in pregnancy in the South West Acute Hospital Irvinestown Road ,Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh.

They had a Christmas jumper day in Dec with the midwives and the good news is some of the proceeds were donated to SOFT. The thought is very touching  and is much appreciated.

Marie O’ Conghaile from Boyle kindly agreed to attend and she is one of the founder members of SOFT. She explained the role of SOFT and about T13 and T18 and included two family stories, one a T18 story where the baby died at birth and another T13 story with a child who lived for a number of years, with references to people and places in Enniskillen and Northern Ireland

Highlights of the SOFT Ireland and SOFT UK websites were shown. Marie gave a few details about her personal story and a few recommendations for good practice that she would have found helpful. There was very little time for questions as the half an hour was up!

Many thanks to Brenda and her team for inviting us and to Marie for helping out.
